Wisdom Teeth

There are many indications for the extraction of wisdom teeth, however, not ALL wisdom teeth need to be extracted.

Let SCIOS be your choice for consultation and treatment.

Orthodontic Related Surgery

Some patients do not have enough space for all their teeth to be aligned and they require removal of teeth to create space for the Orthodontist to align teeth.

Some teeth also get "stuck" during their eruption (often the maxillary canine) and require a surgery to allow the Orthodontist to carefully guide the tooth into its proper position.

Dental Implants

Approximately 150 million Americans are missing at least one tooth and 40 million Americans are missing all of their teeth (1/3 of these people are age 65-74).

Dental implants are one of the greatest advances in dentistry and allow some patients to have a non-removeable option to replace their missing teeth.

Intravenous Sedation

Nobody enjoys dental procedures and injections but some patients can tolerate the brief "shots". After the nerves are numb, dental procedures can be accomplished pain-free.

For those who want an additional level of comfort, sedation medication can be given through an IV.

Pathology (Disease)

Abnormal growths can develop on the skin, lips, gums and tongue. Abnormal cells can also develop inside the jaw bones and may only be discovered during routine x-rays at your dental office.

We are here for you. A biopsy may be necessary to remove or take a sample of the area to determine if further treatment is necessary.

Facial Trauma

Sports, vehicle accidents, slips and falls on the ice and work related injuries can break the bones of the face.

Proper repair of facial bone injuries is important for aesthetics and function.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons have extensive training in addressing facial bone injuries.
